FAAS, The Federation of American Aquarium Societies has decided to shut down in June of 2023. FAAS had reached a point where it needed a major reset. The business model that FAAS was operating under was no longer viable for accomplishing it’s mission and major changes were required. It was decided that it would be easier to start a brand new organization. FAAS has been dissolved in accordance with the by-laws and the remaining funds in treasury are being donated to the AGA, AKA, ALA, and ACA.
The successor organization to FAAS is the AAFC, the Alliance of American Fish Clubs. AAFC was founded by former FAAS acting president, Bill Gill.
